Saying Goodbye to 2025
Reflections, top posts, and a look ahead to 2026
This post might be too long for email, open it in your browser or the Substack app for the best reading experience.
Today is the last day of the year, and as I look back on the past year, I just want to say thank you to all my dear readers!
Your support means the world to me, and every comment, like, and share has not gone unnoticed. This space has brought me so much joy, fulfillment, purpose, and community this past year. I’ve had opportunities arise that I could only dream of, and I owe it all to you.
So THANK YOU for taking the time to read and engage with Studio Notes. It makes me so happy that so many of you love this space as much as I do.
To close out the year, I thought it’d be fun to share my top posts and notes from the year, as well as a glimpse into my 2026 goals and vision board.
You can read about my favorite projects from 2025 in the post below.
Now let’s hop into my vision board for 2026!
For starters, I like to pick a few words to guide the year ahead. Setting these intentions helps me feel grounded and prepared for what’s to come.
In 2025, I chose refresh, discover, create, capture, and catalogue. These felt perfect as I was getting ready to move abroad and was starting Static Cat. I wanted to push myself to stay out of my comfort zone and try new things. I also wanted to focus on downtime and prioritize rest. All in all, this year was a success when it comes to those intentions.
For 2026, I’m shifting my focus a bit. I chose cultivate, practice, gather, and preserve as my intentions for the upcoming year. I have a list of specific personal goals, of course, but when putting together the vision board, I like to set spaces for each word and fill them with photos, quotes, and other inspiring bits to help me visualize the year I’d like to have.
I start by writing out the words and matching my goals to each one. An example for this year is:
Cultivate: Substack growth + evolution, studio growth + new clients, daily practices (routine, consistency), creative abundance
Practice: Learn and further develop skills, stay curious, hands-on making, new creative hobbies
Gather: Spending time with family + close friends, community (salons, meetups, dinners, workshops), connecting with readers + collaborators
Preserve: Family cookbook, photography, journaling, creating a print magazine (finally)
You can see how that starts to come together in the image above. It can be as in-depth or as general as you like. It’s super fun seeing how things unfold as the year progresses.
